A Single Girder I‑Beam Type EOT Crane is a kind of overhead crane wherein: The crane has one main bridge girder (beam) rather than two (as in double girder cranes). The girder is of the I‑beam section (often rolled, though sometimes fabricated) rather than a box girder or lattice. A hoist (wire rope or chain) is mounted on a trolley that travels along this single I‑beam. The bridge (girder + end carriages) travels on runway rails mounted on supports above the working area. This design is common for light to medium duty lifting, moderate spans/heights, where cost, headroom, simplicity, and lighter infrastructure loads are significant considerations.
