A hydraulic jib crane is a type of material‑handling crane with a pivoted boom (the “jib”) that is raised, lowered, slewed or rotated (depending on configuration) using hydraulic power, or at least using hydraulically assisted mechanisms. The jib supports a hoist or lifting device, and provides coverage (reach) from a fixed pivot point (pillar, column, wall, or mobile base). Hydraulic assistance allows smoother, safer, more controllable motion, especially in raising/lowering the jib, rotating, extending sections, etc. Hydraulic jib cranes are used in industrial settings, shipyards, marine decks, workshops, port handling, maintenance work, etc., wherever lifting plus reach plus flexible motion is required in constrained spaces.
