An Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Crane is a crane system that moves heavy loads horizontally and vertically in a workspace, typically inside factories, warehouses, workshops, and industrial plants. The system consists of a bridge or girder(s) spanning two runways (rails), a trolley/hoist for lifting, and mechanisms for moving the bridge along the runways. “Electric” indicates that the hoist, trolley travel (cross travel), and bridge travel (long travel) motions are electrically powered. EOT cranes are fundamental to material handling in industries because they allow safe, efficient, repeatable lifting and shifting of heavy loads. Their design and performance directly affect productivity, safety, and cost in operations.
